2015 Honda CR-V Competitor Comparison
In the field of compact sport utility vehicles, it might be hard to find the right SUV for you, but Pohanka Honda in Capitol Heights has compiled a competitor comparison to see how the 2015 Honda CR-V stacks up against the 2015 Ford Escape, Nissan Rogue, and Toyota RAV4.
Despite the 2015 CR-V having a 2.4-liter engine, while the Escape, Rogue, and RAV4 all feature a 2.5-liter engine, the CR-V has 185 horsepower and 181 foot-pounds of torque, which beats them all. And thanks to that engine and a continuously variable transmission, it gets the best fuel economy with 27/34 city/highway MPG1.
When it comes to capacities, the 2015 Honda CR-V does not disappoint. It holds 15.3 gallons of fuel, which beats the Nissan Rogue's capacity of only 14.5 and the Ford Escape's 15.1 gallons. The CR-V also has more cargo volume than the Escape, with 35.3 cubic feet versus 34.3. And when it comes to maximum cargo volume, the 70.9 cubic feet of the CR-V beats both the Ford Escape and Nissan Rogue. The CR-V also has more passenger volume than the Escape and RAV4, and a greater towing capacity than the Rogue.
Sometimes, it's the little things that make all the difference, and Honda knows that. The CR-V comes standard with stereo anti-theft, which locks the radio if the battery is disconnected and requires a radio unlock code to be used again. This is not available on the Escape, Rogue, or RAV4. Overhead console storage helps free up some space in the CR-V, and is something you won't find on the RAV4.
In order to keep your carpet safe, the Honda CR-V comes standard with floor mats, which you'll have to pay for as an option on the Rogue and RAV4. An external temperature gauge is also a nice touch on the CR-V, but isn't available on the Ford Escape. Parking on a hill has its disadvantages, but Hill Start Assist helps you out by maintaining brake pressure and allowing you more time to step on the accelerator and get out of your parking spot. And while this is a standard feature on the 2015 Honda CR-V, you won't find it on the 2015 Toyota RAV4.
It's clear to see the advantages that the 2015 Honda CR-V has over the 2015 Ford Escape, Nissan Rogue, and Toyota RAV4, but the only way to truly experience all that the CR-V has to offer is to take it for a test drive.
