Engineering
Regardless of whether you’re behind the wheel of the Civic hatchback or sedan, you’ll be in command of a standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. This system distributes up to 150 horsepower1 and 133 lb.-ft. of torque2 when you step on the accelerator, with a standard Continuously Variable Transmission providing responsive acceleration as you move past slower traffic on I-395. The hatchback version includes paddle shifters as standard, while they’re an available feature for the sedan, allowing you to take more direct control of the car’s performance. Both editions offer comparable EPA-estimated mileage ratings, with the sedan earning a 32/41/36 MPG city/hwy/combined3 estimate and the hatchback achieving a 30/38/34 MPG city/hwy/combined4 grade. Go further on a single gas tank by engaging the standard Econ drive mode, which directs the Civic’s powertrain to focus on preserving fuel.
Technology
Inside the 2026 Honda Civic, you’ll find a standard 7-in. color touchscreen positioned on the center of the dashboard. This responsive infotainment hub includes standard Android Auto™5 and Apple CarPlay®6 compatibility, making it easy to stay connected to your favorite apps on the go. An available 8-speaker, 180-watt audio system will broadcast media, whether it’s music or podcasts, in crisp sound quality. The car also incorporates standard speed-sensitive volume compensation, which automatically adjusts the sound levels to accommodate the ambient noise as you go quicker or slow down. In the front row, you’ll find two USB ports that enable you and the co-driver to charge your mobile devices, minimizing the risk of arriving at work with a dead phone battery.
Driver Assist
Every 2026 Civic includes Honda Sensing®, an advanced suite of standard driver-assist and safety features that can alleviate much of the mental burden from your daily commutes. The Lane Keeping Assist System with Traffic Jam Assist7, for instance, continually applies light steering adjustments to keep the car centered between road markers as you travel down the highway. Whenever another motorist approaches you from behind, the Blind Spot Information System8, which is standard on the hatchback and available for the sedan, will let you know with an indicator on the appropriate side mirror. If you take a wrong turn and find yourself in an unfamiliar area during a trip to Barcroft Park, the Traffic Sign Recognition System9 helps you follow local ordinances by identifying nearby information postings, such as speed limits, and displaying them inside the cabin.
