You’ll notice nicely padded touch points on the Pilot's dash, center console and door panels. The Pilot is also especially quiet while on the road, making passengers more comfortable than in the 4Runner. U.S. News and World Report writes that a lack of creature comforts are a major shortcoming for the Toyota SUV. For instance, LATCH attachments are hard to use, and the 4Runner seats have short bottoms with less padding than is needed.

Safety

While the 4Runner has only a rearview camera, the Pilot offers to add a rear cross-traffic alert and a blind spot monitor.
